Families play a crucial role in supporting the naval careers of their loved ones.  However where do they turn when they need support?

Friends and family often provide practical help and a sympathetic ear but sometimes they live far away or they do not understand the difficulties experienced by naval families. Additional support is available from the networks of naval wives who share common problems and new initiatives such as the Royal Navy Community (RNCOM) website help to reach the naval family community increasingly living away from married quarters.  Organisations such as the Naval Families Federation (NFF) provide an independent voice for families.  The Naval Personnel and Family Services (NPFS) offers welfare support to RN personnel and their families in times of crisis and if appropriate can arrange from the return of the service person.
