Diving into the Past

The Mary Rose was King Henry VIII flagship. She sank just outside Portsmouth Harbour in 1545. Gradually she settled into the seabed and vanished from sight. In 1965 a man named Alexander McKee [Mac] set out to re-find the ship. Over the next 17 years hundreds of divers helped to find, excavate and raise the Mary Rose.

We have talked to just some of these divers to find out what it was like being involved in such a unique project.
