What did the Fleet Air Arm do during World War Two?

In 1939 the Admiralty regained full control of the aircraft aboard its ships. During the war the the Fleet Air Arm flew and fought in some of the most hazardous missions imaginable from the Atlantic and the Mediterranean to the Pacific.
