Lindslay was one of the many British and Commonwealth forces who were captured by the Japanese. The Japanese invasion of the New Territories of Hong Kong commenced on 8th December 1941, with most of the territory captured by the following evening. The poorly equipped British and Commonwealth forces surrendered on December 25th.
