Northern operations

Royal Navy submarines attack German vessels in the North Sea

British submarines patrolled against German U boats and commerce raiders in the North Sea. The aim was to prevent German submarines attempting to reach the Atlantic Ocean to conduct attacks on Allied merchant shipping.
