'Then we went back out on patrol over New Year which again was very odd because here we were New Years Eve at midnight, midnight local time out there and we thought you know everyone was on the air, on the air radio circuits going "Hooray" and "Happy New Year" and were going, "oh thanks, you know, here I am 130 miles off Bahrain sitting in the middle of the Persian Gulf waiting to go to war and its new years eve, well this is a good fun". Well that was, I was pretty fed up then.'
