Invergordon Mutiny Oral History Transcripts
John Russell recalls the difficulty of being a Royal Marine at the mutiny
Transcript: "I was serving as a Royal Marine and our job was to do as we were told. Our pay was the same as the seaman and we lost a bob or two just the same so the way we were, we were in a position between the Devil and the deep blue sea, if you understand me. The Royal Marines were carried to prevent the Matelots from meeting each other and we had to keep the peace. You needn’t print that!"
