Personnel receive the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal for 15 years service of good conduct.

In March 1981 commissioned officers of the Navy qualified for the medal after 15 years service provided they served at least 12 years in the ranks.

The medal is silver. On the reverse it has a three masted ship surrounded by a rope tied in a reef knot at the base.

The ribbon is dark blue with white edges.
