Arnold-Forster's progression in the Navy

Arnold-Forster’s enthusiasm for the submarine trials gradually waned. On the 18 March 1902 he abandoned the testing to accept the post of Torpedo Lieutenant on HMS Ariadne, a flagship of the Royal Navy North American Squadron. He remained, however, dedicated to the Navy and eventually worked his way up to become a Rear Admiral.
