There was time for some fun whilst underwater as Eric explains with this story about wrapping up a gun port lid. There was a strong camaraderie felt between the Mary Rose divers. 25 years on this camaraderie still exists.

I was down there with Adrian Barak one day and we were wrapping up a gun port lid, you know, the gun port lid is so big [hand gesture] and we took down plastic and string and all the rest of it, and we were down there together, we were lifting it very carefully and sliding the plastic underneath and wrapping it all up and tying up, goes into a big parcel, and I had my board with me and I said... I wrote down 'this will never go trough the letter box' and Adrian absolutely rolled up and the tears were streaming out of his eyes and we laughed so much, it was really incredible. But whenever he sees me we still talk about this and, you know, it was just one of those moments which has lasted throughout our lives, we've never forgotten that and there's all sorts of things that, that we've, you know, things that were funny and all that.
